What does Ann Romney know and when did she know it? The Pink Flamingo could say something entirely trashy but I’m going to restrain myself. I suspect, The Pink Flamingo’s regular readers will appreciate my restraint and know that I am laughing as I write this. No, Mitt Romney does not have a porn connection – or does he? It could be one of those Kevin Bacon games.

“…An actress who worked with Roberts on Innocence of Muslims agreed that he had nothing to do with the political bent of the film.
“My gut tells me he was just a has-been director who was trying to prove he could still be Hollywood,” she wrote in an email.
Alan Roberts’ real name is Robert Brownell. Vice obtained documents showing a person from Santa Montica named Robert Brownell had paid for some pre-production services for the film that would eventually become Innocence of Muslims, and Roberts’ business partner confirmed that Robert Brownell was Alan Roberts’ real name.
Until the release of Innocence of Muslims, the 65-year-old Roberts has had an unremarkable career as a small-time director and editor. His directing credits include some softcore porn from the 70s and 80s like 1977’s Young Lady Chatterly, The Sexpert and The Happy Hooker Goes to Hollywood, third of the Happy Hooker trilogy. (It’s probably no coincidence that the cast included at least two porn stars.) Roberts tried to break into action in 1991 with Karate Cop: “John Travis is the last honest cop in a future dominated by terroristic martial-arts gangs who fight gladiator-style in arenas.”
Roberts is more accomplished as a film editor, with 28 editing credits, including the 2003 Johnny Knoxville/Christina Applegate vehicle Grand Theft Parsons. In the mid-2000s, he ran a digital post-production facility called Genesis Post-Production according to a press release for a documentary about Burning Man where he’s credited as producer.
“At one time he edited some fairly large films but he really never got a break to the really big ones for whatever reasons,” said the business partner. “But for the work I’ve seen, the editing he’s done, he’s actually very creative.”…”
Why are some of Hollywood’s biggest porn stars endorsing Mitt Romney? And – what is the Sheldon Adelson connection? While we’re at it, is there a Sheldon Adelson connection to a certain little film that is making the rounds in the Middle East?

In 2008 he said, “I wanna make sure that every new computer sold in this country after I’m president has installed on it a filter to block all pornography and that parents can click that filter to make sure their kids don’t see that kinda stuff coming in on their computer.” And last month, a former anti-porn prosecutor in the Reagan administration indicated that Romney’s campaign had promised to “vigorously” crack down on pornographers once in the White House. Perhaps his frequent changing of ‘positions’ is what attracts the former porno queen. Yeah, right! Americans would sooner give up their guns, than their porno films….”

As a public service, The Pink Flamingo is providing a review of one of his more artistic films.
“…“The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywood” was one of the first movies made by notorious producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus after they took over Cannon Studios. Even at this stage, they showed here that they could make a decent-looking movie on a low budget (it has the highest production values of the trilogy). There is also a lot of nudity and sex – I think it’s safe to say this movie has more sex and nudity than the first two movies combined. And the script has some amusing in-jokes (Silvers’ character name “Warkoff” is obviously a sly send-up of B movie producer Samuel Z. Arkoff.)
Unfortunately, despite all this, the movie still doesn’t add up to much. There may be all that sex and nudity, but it’s directed with such an innocent attitude that it’s not the least bit erotic. Silvers is wasted in a role that obviously didn’t take long to film. West seems very embarrassed (his career was still in the toilet at the time.) But the biggest problem is that the movie doesn’t have that much story. There’s only half a story here, the rest being obvious filler….”
As Alan Roberts, our erstwhile scam artist does have a resume. The Pink Flamingo really can’t say much about his films because I don’t think I’ve ever had the misfortune to watch one.
To be fair, one of the films “Roberts” edited appears to have met with some critical success – Deterrence. Had he continued on that career path, he might have made something of his life.
Part of Romney’s problem is the fact that he is being bankrolled by Sheldon Adelson. The man is not only dirty, he’s filthy dirty.

“…Meanwhile, reporting about the bizarre movie trailer that sparked violence across the Mideast could scarcely be more embarrassing to Romney and his amateurish advisers. Evidently the producers of this thing are a gang of fraudsters and extremists, who misrepresented their project and sought to falsely implicate both Israel and the American Jewish community in America in their inflammatory project. Before Romney decided to line up beside these nutcases, he might have wanted to know that at least several are associated with anti-Mormon as well as anti-Muslim agitation, as journalist Max Blumenthal explains here.
Even if the film’s producers weren’t a bunch of crooks and cranks, there would be no contradiction between defending their freedom of speech, as a matter of principle, and criticizing their offensive propaganda. The American values that Romney pretends to uphold – even as he prepares to kowtow to the authoritarians at the Values Voters Summit – certainly don’t prohibit US officials abroad or at home from speaking out against attempts to inflame religious hostility….”
Please, pardon The Pink Flamingo for laughing. If all of this is true, it is wonderful. Media for Christ, paid a washed-up porn director to make a movie. The director of a Happy Hooker movie was working with an organization who promoted Christian Media. It just works for me. For years, I’ve said that most TV preachers are nothing but well-paid whores. I guess I’m being proved correct.
And – he could land back in jail, not passing go, not collected two hundred thousand dollars. It violates the man’s probation, which may explain why we don’t know who put the clip on Youtube.

He was ordered not to own or use devices with access to the Web without approval from his probation officer – and any approved computers were to be used for work only. “Defendant shall not access a computer for any other purpose,” the terms read.
Restrictions were also placed on him enlisting others to get on the Internet for him. A spokesman for the U.S. Probation and Parole Office could not be reached Thursday about whether Nakoula may have violated those terms when the film trailer was uploaded to YouTube….”
That doesn’t stop morons like Robert Spencer from claiming that this con artist will become a political prisoner. The right has become so insane, protecting Romney, that they refuse to open their eyes and face the truth.
Right now we’re dealing with more questions that than answers.
- Are the stories that Sheldon Adelson is a major backer of the Vegas porn industry correct?
- If so, did he help bankroll this fiasco?
- If Adelson is so involved in the pron industry, why did the GOP put an anti-porn plank in the platform?
- Why would the GOP even allow someone like Adelson to call the shots?
- Is it true that Adelson also is a big donor to Bibi?
- What are his connections to the porn industry?
- Had he helped finance “Alan Roberts” before this?
- How many more of Adelson’s porn stars will be endorsing Mitt Romney?
Don’t you just love American politics? With all that money, I just wish the Romney campaign would stop e-mailing me asking for donations.
