“…”But guess what? You haven’t just been misinformed about the horse race. Since the very beginning of the election cycle, conservative media has been failing you. With a few exceptions, they haven’t tried to rigorously tell you the truth, or even to bring you intellectually honest opinion. What they’ve done instead helps to explain why the right failed to triumph in a very winnable election.”…” Conor Friedersdorf

If you are expecting The Pink Flamingo to be gracious, forget it.  I’ve been saying for a year that Mitt Romney is a loser.  He proved what a total loser he was.  In doing so, he has brought down the far right punditry, I hope.  Yes, I’ve been making a list, checking it twice, taking names, and calling down the thunder. I have a whole group of people, in order, who betrayed the GOP.  Let’s get started.

The very top of the list belongs to FOX Tabloid News and the people who watch it.

“…Fox News is often described as little more than a mouthpiece for the Republican Party. Nothing could be further from the truth. If anything, the reverse is the case, with the Republican Party serving as unwitting puppets of the self-serving right-wing controversy machine. Fox News and the talk radio shock-jocks across the country win whether or not conservatives are in power; these purveyors of political entertainment thrive under a Democratic president, perhaps even more so than under their preferred candidates. There’s big money in controversy, and controversy is what the Glenn Becks of the world do best.

At some point, Republicans will need to wake up to the current state of affairs and realize they’re being held hostage to a powerful, self-sustaining entertainment industry and that the interests of the party and the interests of Fox News are not one and the same.

Indeed, the spin-offs of this conservative movement/media behemoth can be seen far and wide as bloggers like Dean Chambers take up the mantle of “true conservatism” and begin telling Republicans only what they want to hear—even if that means twisting the polling data beyond anything remotely recognizable as the truth.

Even the Tea Party was largely the result of a concerted effort on the part of conservative media to foment dissatisfaction and resentment. Sure, this may have helped sweep the House to the right in 2010, but more importantly it drove traffic to conservative websites and eyeballs to Fox News. And while Romney may have lost the election last night, Fox is guaranteed a strong viewership through Obama’s second term….”

  1. Micheal Medved – How’s that Perfect candidate, his perfect life, his perfect family, his perfect appearance, his perfection working out for you?
  2. Jennifer Rubin – Where do I start? The woman could have taught Joseph Goebbels a thing or two about propaganda. Then, she blames Romney for her fall from grace.
  3. Charles Krauthammer – He ruined his great legacy by pandering to Mittens.
  4. Hugh Hewitt – What an out of touch ass!
  5. Rush Limbaugh – Pull the plug and put him out of our misery!
  6. Ann Coulter – No longer comic relief, but an embarrassment.  She should have stuck with Chris Christi.
  7. Laura Ingraham – She started this mess, years ago!
  8. Sean Hannity – Gutless wonder.
  9. Bill O’Reilly – Scared of people of color takin’ over the USA? ” “..Obama wins because it’s not a traditional America anymore. The white establishment is the minority. People want things.”..”
  10. Erick Erickson – Idiot!
  11. Michelle Malkin – Please slither back under that racist, bigoted rock you rolled in on.
  12. Robert Stacy McCain – He thinks the US is now doomed beyond all hope of redemption.  It sure is.  Your form of white supremacist, anti-Hispanic, neo-Confederate bigotry has lost!
  13. William Jacobson – His irrational treatment of Elizabeth Warren was so over the top that he literally destroyed Scott Brown with his hatred of Warren.  He should be given full credit for Brown’s loss.
  14. Peggy Noonan – She’s irrelevant.
  15. Michael Barone – He should know better.  He’s currently having a breakdown.
  16. George Will – Will has been pathetic since Nancy Reagan left DC.
  17. Misc. employees of News Corp have blatantly lied.

I can’t put Roger Simon in the group.  He’s been fairly rational the entire time.

I don’t put Glenn Beck on the list because he’s a total clown, a former (?) coke sniffer, hysterical fool, who has one more damage to the GOP than just about anyone else.  He needs to be in the Propaganda Hall of Fame.

Note to the far right conservative talking heads who forced such a losing proposition on us, it sucks now get over it.

Media Matters

Mitt Romney was a crap candidate, pushed by the far right who were seduced by his “perfection”.  There are a heck of a lot of us who refused to back him, who are now absolutely furious for being treated like dirt, marginalized, and we were right.  You nominate crap candidates and you lose, big.   When you nominate someone for their absurd “perfection” and don’t bother looking at the record, lie about it, and has no core, then you get what you deserve. If you want to put the blame somewhere, just go look in the mirror.

Yes, I told you so.  Perhaps it is time for those who pushed Romney to sit down, shut up, grow up, and let those of us who new exactly what was going to happen take over and try rebuilding a party.  Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. I’m heart-sick about this.  I’m also furious. There are a heck of a lot of us who are as mad as heck, and aren’t going to take it, again.

The problem with the people who pushed this disaster upon us, is that they are incapable of admitting that they were wrong.  They will continue pandering to the AFP, tea parties, and the lowest common denominator, and then sit back, to cry a river of crocodile tears.  You did it.  You created this mess.  Try learning from  your mistakes and correct it.

“…Yes, Obama began his presidency with bailouts, stimulus, and borrowing. You know who started the bailouts? George W. Bush. Bush knew that under these exceptionally dire circumstances, bailouts had to be done. Stimulus had to be done, too, since the economy had frozen up. A third of the stimulus was tax cuts. Once the economy began to revive, Obama offered a $4-trillion debt reduction framework that would have cut $3 to $6 of spending for every $1 in tax hikes. That’s a higher ratio of cuts to hikes than Republican voters, in a Gallup poll, said they preferred. It’s way more conservative than the ratio George H. W. Bush accepted in 1990. In last year’s debt-ceiling talks, Obama offered cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid in exchange for revenue that didn’t even come from higher tax rates. Now he’s proposing to lower corporate tax rates, and Republicans are whining that he hacked $716 billion out of Medicare. Some socialist….”

There are a number of reasons why the GOP lost.  Let’s also count those ways.

  1. Anti-Hispanic bigots like Heather MacDonald who continue to push their unrealistic lies about Hispanic culture, fanning the flames of bigotry and racism.  We have lost Hispanic voters.
  2. Anti-women idiots like certain GOP Senatorial candidates.
  3. Rush Limbaugh and his insane assault on women.
  4. FOX Tabloid News
  5. Ann Coulter’s ongoing irrational bigotry.
  6. The bigotry of the Romney campaign associates.
  7. The acceptance of

Michael Reagan has an obituary for the Romney campaign in his latest Townhall column.  Even he misses the boat.  They all do.

When you start blaming the country, then you’ve already lost.

The problem with the far right punditry is that THEY decided THEY were going to tell US how THEY wanted US to vote.  THEY chose THEIR perfect candidate.  THEY refused to allow anyone to question him.  When he was proven to be a serial liar, psychopath, and fake, they lied for him.  They manipulated the facts. They manipulated.  They sold their soul for their dollars.

They chose a candidate who was so flawed, so egotistical, and so incapable of introspection, and dealing with anyone other than those who told him what he wanted to hear, that he was incapable of making rational decisions.

What really annoys me is that I’m no longer angry with them.  Why bother?  They are no longer worthy of my respect.  I am a fool for ever thinking they were.  That’s my problem.  I will never subscribe to their shows, read their books, or even turn on the telly when they are trying to tell us how stupid we are.

Maybe we will see who is stupid.  Then again, I am so glad I flipped the switch, removed the link, and quit buying their books and their propaganda.  I was forced to confront the fact that they were peddling nothing but what they were told to peddle.  I am so glad they annoyed me so much I refused to listen to them or read them. My eyes were opened.

The bitter irony of this is that the talking radio heads are on the way out, quickly.  Now that Clear Channel no longer needs them to push Romney, I wonder how many shows will go the way of the dinosaur?

Who really should take the blame for this mess the GOP is now in?  Well, go look in the mirror.  But, first, let’s thank those talking heads who pushed a crap candidate on us.  If you voted for him, and fell for their stupidity, sorry about that.  Don’t blame me.  I TOLD YOU SO!

No, it’s not very mature, but I’ve been waiting months to say I told you so.  Let me enjoy it.  I know you aren’t.  That makes it even better.  Then again, if you are one of the millions of Republicans who refused to be conned, congratulations, we made the right choice!
