For the past day or so, I’ve been going back and forth with a friend from New Mexico. Funny thing about the memory. Sometimes it takes an event and a few days to start the gray matter churning. She confirmed what I thought I remembered, that there were rumors, back in about 2002, that there was a Jihad training camp in the Arabella community located in the Hondo Valley. She seems to remember rumor has it they relocated toward Pine Lodge Road and had a ranch in that direction. I remembered something about Roswell. But – that’s in the same ‘general’ location, if you think in New Mexico terms – it’s one very big state and distance is almost irrelevant. She said she’s also heard there were/are training camps on the other side of the border. I’ve heard that one, too.
The problem with the Hondo Valley Rumor Mill is that anything was possible, ergo, no one paid attention to the rumblings of a group of individuals who may or may not have been sober. As in most things New Mexico, sightings of UFOs, aliens – that sort of thing, are highly alcohol dependent. The problem with that theory is there are times when Hondo Valley minions who may or may not have been sober at the time, might not have been all that wrong – about some things.
I remember a time when one of the more infamous barflies was ranting on and on about giant catfish near the dam at T or C. Everyone thought he was crazy. Well, come to find out, he was ahead of his time. If River Monsters had been on Animal Planet at the time, maybe someone would have believed him. The guy was obsessed with fishing at Elephant Butte. He kept bragging about how good the fishing was.
So…maybe all those rumors about jihad training camps in Arabella or up Pine Lodge Road might not have been so crazy, after all, considering the latest out of Taos.
“…Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe said Tuesday that authorities initially did not have enough evidence to search the compound. Wahhaj and his son were not spotted on the property. A breakthrough came last week when authorities received a tip that a starving child might be living at the compound.
Wahhaj’s father, also named Siraj, is a controversial cleric with close ties to Muslim rights groups like the Islamic Circle of North American, the Muslim American Society and the Center for American Islamic Relations. The elder Wahhaj was also an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing case. He was a character witness for Omar Abdel Rahman, the so-called “Blind Sheikh.”…”
This is terribly alarming. I’m wondering how many more of these so-called training camps are out there, and how many additional children are being abused and allegedly training to slaughter people in school shootings. These people are not members of the NRA, BTW. The liberal media isn’t covering the story. Do they even care that the remains of a child have been found?
What also bothers me, and makes me just a little snarky is the Linda Sarsour connection. You need to remember, she was one of the co-founders of the anti-Trump Women’s March. Her mentor is the father of Siraj Ibn Wahhaj. The other part of this is that George Soros helped fund the Woman’s march. If we were dealing with white supremacists and radical racists, the media would be all over it, blaming the NRA. They would be making all manner of links to President Trump.
There are some things here I don’t like, and Linda Sarsour is at the top of the list. The left and the media has turned her into some sort of cultural wonder woman. I have friends who think she is amazing. They think her movement and battle against the evil that is Donald Trump is admirable and consider themselves part of it. While they would think there was a link between the NRA, radical white supremacists, and this group in NM, blaming it on Trump, they will deny any sort of vague connection between Sarsour and that is obviously a terrorist training camp.
The irony is that there are those on the left who are already trying to blame this on the NRA and President Trump. The minute the story broke, they were all over Twitter, blaming it on the NRA and Trump voters. Yes, the left is that stupid.
As far as UFOs in New Mexico, well, I’m not holding my breath.
